Gynecologic procedures

Novant Health Southeast OB/GYN offers a variety of gynecologic procedures including traditional surgeries, minimally invasive surgeries and in-office procedures. Some common procedures and surgeries we regularly complete include:

• Hysterectomies. We offer both traditional and minimally invasive hysterectomy options. Should you require hospitalization after your hysterectomy, you will receive excellent care at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center.
• NovaSure ablations. This is a procedure to lighten or end heavy periods. Radiofrequency energy is used to remove the endometrium, or lining of the uterus, which causes your monthly bleeding. The procedure takes only five minutes and is completed in our office. Click here to learn more about NovaSure.

We also offer routine Pap tests in our office as part of annual gynecologic exams.
